Velocity have delivered over 66,000m2 of asphalt preservation on a main strategic route in Reading at Junction 11 of the M4. This strategic road is the main access route from the M4 into and out of Reading and carries extremely high volumes of traffic daily.
The A33 carriageway surface had reached a point where preservation was recommended before it started to deteriorate to a point requiring full resurfacing, which is extremely disruptive and expensive.
Sam Shean, Highways and Traffic Services Manager, said “Velocity are a highly professional company who are flexible, approachable and delivered exactly what we asked of them.
“Although preservation is not new innovation, it is new for Reading and this scheme is going to be the start of an extensive preservation programme we are looking to deliver in Reading. We are planning to tender in the new financial year to preserve our good condition roads going forward to reduce the cycle of resurfacing once the road surface has reached a point where we have to replace.
“I am more than happy to recommend them to other Local Authorities.”
